Gotham High

Most of you probably don't know that a couple of years ago there was almost an animated Batman series about his high school years. At first glance you reflexively want to do a facepalm but having sat on this for a couple of days there might be some potential here for some interesting story arcs. You'd have to completely throw out and ignore the backstories behind how some of these villans came to be in the first place but it would be much like a parallel universe type of idea. Kinda like the most recent Star Trek movie. Click on the image to get a full size look at the cast and you can also go to Jeff and Celeste's site to have a read through some more about the idea behind this project that never got off the ground.

One Year, One Canadian

For the year of 2011, I’m living Canadian. For 12 months, I will only buy Canadian products, eat Canadian food and consume Canadian media. I’m going to document this process through this website, and plan to publish a book about my project in 2012.

Deepak Chopra to head Canada Post

Canada Post Corporation has named Deepak Chopra as its new CEO. Chopra takes over from Stewart Bacon, who returned from retirement as interim president and CEO in July when then-CEO Moya Greene left to take over Britain's national carrier, The Royal Mail.

Sounds unbelievable doesn't it? Well, you'll have to read the news article from the Montreal Gazette to find out exactly what's going on.

Can I haz cheezburgr after jury duty?

A cat has been summoned to do jury service, even after his owners told the court he was "unable to speak and understand English".
Anna Esposito, wrote to Suffolk Superior Crown Court in Boston, US, to explain that a mistake had been made, but a jury commissioner replied saying the cat, named Tabby Sal, "must attend" on March 23.

Training K9 dogs in Russia

Outdoor classic? Si seƱor...

I'm not talking about the Winter Classic in Pittsburgh. No, not the Heritage Classic in Calgary either. It's the opening game in the 2011 IIHL World U20 Championships!

But the World Juniors were just played in Buffalo you say. We witnessed the greatest third period collapse in World Junior history by the Canadians to the Russians you say. There were no outdoor games played in Buffalo. Well, you're absolutely correct. But the opening game of the Division III Championships were played outdoors this past Sunday.

...in Mexico.

That's right folks. Zócalo Square was transformed into a winter wonderland as Mexico and Bulgaria faced off to open the tournament. The IIHF reported that they expected no less than 50,000 fans to take in the unusual outdoor game. TSN reported tonight that just over 3,000 spectators (or maybe mostly curious onlookers) came out to watch the spectacle. They then proceeded to throw in a little sarcasm by saying tournament officials pointed out they still outdrew the Phoenix Coyotes. Mexico handily dispatched the Bulgarians 8-0. The very Mexican sounding, 18 year old forward, Christian Smithers scored four times for the home side. The 6'2", 176lb forward hailing from San Jeronimo enjoyed a team high nine shots on net. Rounding out the scoring were Diego Linares and Hernando Chavez who each potted a pair.

I can't believe I can't find anything on the internets reporting this game. TSN had a quick mention on Sportscentre that the game took place with a little bit of film footage but no score was reported. I would have expected a write up by the IIHF at least but they only had an article to hype the game. I found a few more write-ups about the possibility of an outdoor game but nothing beyond that. So I guess you could say this is a FOTI exclusive. Woohoo.

Alright, seriously. I'm not trying to belittle the Mexican team. They could probably skate circles around me. I'm happy they pulled off a win in front of their home crowd and I wish them well in the tourney. Still, it was an interesting idea to hold an outdoor game in Mexico. I wonder how hot it was. The quick clip on TSN showed puddles of water on the ice like we saw in Pittsburgh when the rain came down. I would have liked to play a shift.

What do Clark Kent, Peter Parker and Shigeo Tokuda have in common?

How many of you have wanted a secret identity? Anthony by day and Tap-Sum-Bong by night!!! (for those of you who don't get the reference you can watch the Russell Peters Clip here).

I suppose the most difficult thing about the secret identity is keeping the identity a secret. I know I'd probably blab to someone sooner or later. Here are 6 real people with Secret Identities no one saw coming.
